Statement
Being an artist beats working in some jerk's basement fixing things with no thanks or praise. I have always wanted to communicate my thoughts-whatever they may be.
I don't see any great struggle in my life, which many people would like an artist to have. We all share the same pain and the same happiness. Any feeling I have had someone has had before me. I see a common reality, a simple truth that binds us together. If I can share this with people through my work, I have achieved my goal. I see a truth in what we do, a sadness in life, the tragedy of our world. In that sadness I rejoice in what we have.
The job I have as an artist is to observe and give back to you what I see, as I see it, to show you the beauty in what we have. If you were to ask me what I do as an artist, I will tell you it is the same thing I did as a carpenter.
